DNC CNN Swoons Over ‘Experience’ of Biden’s Cabinet Picks

Not even trying to resemble honest reporting, leftist-aligned CNN closed out Tuesday’s New Day by swooning over Joe Biden while going out of their way to trash the President. Since Biden started to name his cabinet, the network has been reluctant to do anything but praise the nominees. This has been especially true of one of the most recent picks, longtime Democratic Party hack Xavier Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

Instead, reporters like Abby Phillip have been brought on to heap praise on the nominees: “There are three main things that the Biden nominees seem to all have in common, they have experience in the subject matter that they are being chosen to lead, they have experience in government, most of them, and they also have experience with the principle.”

It is not clear what type of experience that Becerra will bring to his department, especially in the middle of the pandemic. The closest thing he has to medical experience is partisan lobbying on behalf of ObamaCare, both in Congress and as California’s Attorney General. While this speaks to his credentials as a lawyer, it says nothing about him as an administrator or a health expert.

The liberal network also failed to mention that the Republicans in the Senate have expressed strong opposition to Becerra based on his lack of qualifications.

Rather than report to the American people important information about future leaders in the government, Phillip continued the narrative, striking at the Trump administration: “Those are all things that four years ago as we were sitting in a very similar position watching President Trump put together his cabinet, virtually none of those things were true about many of the people he was choosing for his cabinet.”

Co-host John Berman seemed determined not to give Trump any credit for the pandemic response: “And it’s just stark. Yes, the President is having a vaccine event at the White House but I think more telling he had an indoor unmasked event inside the White House yesterday, which has been a super spreader site. I mean, you get a sense of the difference in emphasis between the two men.”

Berman then hurled another attack: “It’s infinitely outrageous when you try to overturn the results of the election, it’s infinitely more outrageous when you are doing it when 2,200 Americans are dying every day from a pandemic and you are not promoting safe ways to get past it.”

There was nothing that prompted these attacks on the President, or any relevant events that warranted discussion. It appears that CNN is determined to trash the President up to the minute he leaves office. On the flip side, they are likely to continue propping up Biden for much longer than that.

New Day
12/8/20
8:49 AM ET

JOHN BERMAN: Just hours from now, both President Trump and President-Elect Joe Biden will be speaking about coronavirus. These dueling events will show the contrast really with how they’ve handled the pandemic. Frankly, the President’s absence from the scene talking about the suffering going on in the country over the last few days shows that contrast as much as anything. Let’s get the bottom line with CNN political correspondent Abby Phillip. Abby, great to see you. President-Elect Biden will officially unveil his health team today with Javier Becerra, the Attorney General of California, to be Director of Health and Human Services. And it’s just stark. Yes, the President is having a vaccine event at the White House but I think more tellingly he had an indoor unmasked event inside the White House yesterday, which has been a super spreader site. I mean, you get a sense of the difference in emphasis between the two men.

ABBY PHILLIP: Absolutely. I don’t think we need to be surprised or guess at what is going to happen today. We know that President Trump is fixated on the issue of who gets credit for the vaccine more than anything else. More than even the issue of ensuring Americans that it’s safe, that it’s effective, that it’s going to be administered in a way that is fair and equitable and that there’s going to be enough of it. The President wants everyone to know that he thinks that he deserves credit for the vaccine even coming into existence, but that’s just a sort of, you know, very — like a lot of things with President Trump — very much focused on himself. I do think that when you look at the contrast here it’s not just the contrast in style with the Biden administration that is coming into being, it’s also in pretty much every form of substance you can get. There are three main things that the Biden nominees seem to all have in common, they have experience in the subject matter that they are being chosen to lead, they have experience in government, most of them, and they also have experience with the principle. Those are all things that four years ago as we were sitting in a very similar position watching President Trump put together his cabinet, virtually none of those things were true about many of the people he was choosing for his cabinet. In many cases he had never met some of the people that he was announce to lead senior roles. I think that that contrast is pretty clear as you move forward with some of these more senior positions within the Biden cabinet.

ALISYN CAMEROTA: Abby, I’m interested in that reporting about the President wanting credit for the vaccine. Is that still an open debate? I mean, he does deserve credit for fast tracking that. Is anybody even debating that? And so you’re suggesting that because he’s fixated on that he can’t be Comforter in Chief, he can’t talk about coronavirus, we can’t talk about home testing and fast tracking that somehow, we can’t figure out contact tracing? I mean, between now and the time when most Americans can get vaccinated, more than 100,000 more Americans are predicted to die.

PHILLIP: Yeah, I mean, I think that’s exactly the point, Alisyn. Look, there’s no question that the federal government’s role in helping usher this vaccine along, the President deserves credit for that. The problem is that that’s not the only thing that matters when you have more than 2,000 people in this country dying every day. And the President, as John pointed out, keeps having these events, he had a massive rally in which they didn’t even bother to give masks to people who were standing behind the President in Georgia over the weekend, he’s had indoor events repeatedly over the last several weeks. He will not talk to the American people about precautions that they should be taking to keep themselves and their families safe. The vaccine is coming, but as everybody has said, there is a lot that needs to be done in terms of Presidential leadership right now to be a bridge between where we are with this extraordinary number of deaths and hospitalizations and where we will be when the vaccine is actually distributed to enough people in this country to be protective.

BERMAN: There’s no public evidence he cares about the loss right now. We just haven’t heard it and we haven’t seen it at all. I’m sorry, we just haven’t.

PHILLIP: And he’s tweeting about literally everything else but this enormous crisis.

BERMAN: He’s trying to overturn the results of an election. There are two things going on one outrageous. It’s infinitely outrageous when you try to overturn the results of the election, it’s infinitely more outrageous when you are doing it when 2,200 Americans are dying every day from a pandemic and you are not promoting safe ways to get past it. We’re seeing the results of the former there, the overturning the election, you start to see the results this have around the country. We are just now seeing this tweet from the Arizona Republican party. This is going on. The Arizona Republican party is putting out a tweet, a tweet of Rambo, from the movie Rambo here and it says, this is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing or die for something and this is part of a string of tweets where they talk about the #stopthesteal. They are talking about the fight to overturn the election and they are talking about violence. I’m sorry, they just are. This is the Arizona Republican party. This is what we’ve come to.

PHILLIP: It is so incredibly disturbing on a number of levels. Just the level of incitement that’s happening all across the country. The fact that regular people and not even just these elected officials like the Michigan secretary of state but just, you know, that election worker in Georgia that you heard the Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling talk about who found a noose outside of his home. Real people who are just doing normal things to administer an election being threatened, being — you know, being sort of put out there and all of this being supported by the highest levels including by the President. But, you know, what’s amazing about all of this is that President Trump is so insistent that he has won this election that he wants another four years in office, but seems to want to do very little of the actual job of the presidency. With a lot of the reports out there that he has withdrawn from so much of the job, the meetings have become kind of limited to his fixation on the election, it seems the President doesn’t actually want to do the job he just wants to say that he has it.

BERMAN: Lindsey graham called this a civil war. He should know better. That’s sick. He lives in South Carolina. He knows what a civil war is for him to be equating this to a civil war, he knows better. Abby, thank you very much.

“This the End All, Be All Case” – Trump Attorney Jordan Sekulow: MI, GA, PA and WI Are Required to Respond to Texas Case by Thursday, This is Good News (Video)

Earlier today the state of Texas sued Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on Monday night with the US Supreme Court challenging their unlawful election procedures.

Texas argued these four states violated the US Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions.  But these states did not make the changes through the state legislatures as spelled out in the US Constitution.

Then later this evening Allen West announced that seven additional states had joined Texas in its lawsuit against unlawful election procedures.

Tonight on Stinchfield Trump Attorney Jordan Sekulow announced that Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are required to respond to this Texas lawsuit by Thursday.

TRENDING: BREAKING: Supreme Court Denies Latest Election Challenge Out of Pennsylvania

Jordan Sekulow is a member of President Donald Trump’s legal team.

Jordan Sekulow: I can already report now the Supreme Court has put on the docket the parties: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. When you look at the states that were named they have to now respond by Thursday at 3 PM to this bill of complaint. And they have to respond to very specific items. So the Supreme Court is not just considering what Texas filed today they are now going the next step which is we want a response from the states named… Again I think this is very clear. This is the case we’ve been talking about to reach SCOTUS. This is the outcome determinative case. 62 electoral college votes at stake enough to change the outcome of the election.

And then Jordan added this:

There are two reliefs sought. One is these legislatures that are all controlled by Republicans can seat new electors because the elections violated the elector’s clause due process and equal protection. And because of that they can seat new electors… And if it went to the House then Republicans control that 27 to 22 so it would be Republicans choosing the next president if it had to go the House of Representatives… This is the major challenge, the one we were waiting for. It has enough electoral votes at stake to change the outcome… The court is deciding that it wants more briefing and it is great news… This is the end all, be all case.

WATCH: NY AG Letitia James Predicts Trump Will Resign So Pence Can Pardon Him. But She Also Says It Won’t Help.

From the day she took office in January of 2019 , New York Attorney General Letitia James put a target on Donald Trump’s back. None of the questionable actions he took as a New York City businessman would go un-investigated.

Trump is soon to be out of office and will no longer have the legal protections afforded to him by the presidency. Considering the rumors that he may pardon himself, it seems likely that Trump understands the legal jeopardy he is going to face.

So during her Tuesday appearance on The View, the hosts had plenty of questions about Trump’s future. She told the panel:

“The vast majority of legal scholars have indicated that he cannot pardon himself. What he could do is step down and allow … Vice President Pence, to pardon him. I suspect that he will pardon his family members, his children, his son-in-law, and individuals in his administration as well as some of his close associates. And then I suspect, at some point in time, he will step down and allow the vice president to pardon him.”

She then explained, however, why it isn’t likely to help. “It’s important to understand he is pardoned from federal crimes. But he is not pardoned from state crimes,” James said. “Last year, I introduced a bill in the state legislature which would close the pardon loophole, so that individuals such as the President of the United States would not evade justice. It’s important we have this check on presidential powers. … the state legislature, I’m so happy they passed that bill and it is now the law in the state of New York. President Trump cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York.

Trump Supporters Call For Armed Uprising After SCOTUS Deals Fatal Blow To GOP Election Scheme

After the conservative Supreme Court rejected the GOP’s effort to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump’s supporters are calling for martial law and an armed uprising.

“Meanwhile, over on planet-Parler, the Supreme Court’s decision is being met (as many things there are) with calls for martial law and armed insurrection,” said Brad Heath of Reuters.

“Only possible solution is Martial Law NOW,” read one of the posts on the alternate reality social media site, Parler. “Declare current election illegal.”

A second post shared by Heath called for an armed rebellion: “We have a 2nd amendment. The situation we find ourselves in now is precisely why we’ve fought all these years [to] preserve it.”

MAGA world’s reaction to the Supreme Court decision ranges from amusing to disturbing, but it shows just how far removed they are from reality.

MAGA world is neck-deep in denial

For four years, the “f*ck your feelings” crowd has attacked liberals, calling them snowflakes and mocking them for not being able to accept Donald Trump’s electoral college victory in 2016.

Now, the same folks who bulk ordered “liberal tears” coffee mugs have literally created a social media platform dedicated to endless whining and election fraud fan faction – all because they can’t accept the fact that most of the country rejected their carnival barking incumbent president.

The election is over. Trump lost, and he lost decisively. Recounts have confirmed Biden’s victory, and lawsuits alleging widespread fraud have been laughed out of court rooms all across the country.

Trump supporters are free to cry about it on social media – and they will certainly do that – but it won’t change the reality that Joseph R. Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.

Come in spinner: how independent is the government’s check on political advertising?

Spin it to win it – with millions being spent on focus groups to refine the Treasury department’s economic recovery message, questions need to be asked about the independence of a committee tasked with policing government advertising.

The PM’s spin doctors have been hard at work this year, generating catchy slogans and cleverly crafted Instagram posts at every turn.

But as Crikey wrote in October, Scott Morrison’s marketing obsession goes far beyond the realm of public relations — it has seeped into his policymaking too. And with millions being spent on focus groups to refine the Treasury department’s economic recovery message, it seems nothing is beyond the reach of spinners.

Now questions are being raised about the independence of a committee tasked with policing government advertising.

Keep Trying, Zuckerville: Fox News Still Leads Cable News Ratings War

On the heels of having gleefully achieved their desired outcome in the presidential election and less-than-flattering Project Veritas videos, the Jeffrey Zucker-micromanaged CNN has spent the last week on a victory lap, touting their November ratings as up 135 percent in total viewers and 209 percent in the 25-54 demo (which CNN acted as though was the only worthwhile measurement).

In a digital ad and under their farcical banner of “#FactsFirst,” CNN claimed that they’ve become “the most watched[SIC] cable network.” But like most things with the most poisonous name in news, the facts weren’t on their side.

But when it comes to whether more people watched CNN than longtime ratings king Fox News, CNN can keep dreaming as FNC marked its 227th month as the most-watched cable news channel with 1.94 million total viewers versus CNN’s 1.78 million. And in all of cable television, FNC’s number placed it in first place for the 53rd month in a row.

If CNN wants to hang its hat on anything (which wasn’t saying much), it’s separated itself from fellow far-left outfit MSNBC, who had just over 1.5 million total viewers.

CNN should savor its time in the spotlight (or what little there’s left) as MSNBC named Rashida Jones as its new executive on Monday. And last week, MSNBC garnered headlines for naming Jonathan Capehart and Tiffany Cross as Joy Reid’s replacements for her old weekend slot.

But back to FNC’s ratings. In both of the consistently important times of a news cycle (morning and primetime), an FNC press release revealed first-place finishes for Fox & Friends First (693,000 total viewers and 142,000 in 25-54 demo) and Fox & Friends (1.8 million total viewers and 374,000 for 25-54).

In a tweet from our friend RoadMN measuring November ratings across 77 shows on seven cable news channels, Fox & Friends First finished one spot ahead of MSNBC competitor Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt and four spots clear of CNN’s Early Start.

And for Fox & Friends, they finished five spots above MSNBC’s Morning Joe and 11 ahead of CNN’s New Day.

In primetime, it was a blowout with FNC rivaling (and besting) the broadcast networks. Here were some highlights from the FNC press release (click “expand”):

FNC also saw its highest-rated November on record in primetime across total viewers and in the key 25-54 demographic. November also marked the 11th consecutive month this year that the network has finished number one in all of cable across primetime total viewers led by Tucker Carlson Tonight at 8PM/ET. Surpassing every broadcast network aside from FOX in total viewers, FNC continues to outpace NBC, CBS, and ABC in addition to the cable news competition in weekday primetime, an ongoing streak since Memorial Day. Additionally, the network edged out broadcast network CBS in the key 25-54 demographic in weekday primetime.

(….)

Many of FNC’s programs, as well as the network’s entire primetime lineup, delivered their highest-rated month in the 25-54 demographic ever, including Tucker Carlson Tonight, Hannity, The Ingraham Angle, FOX News @ Night with anchor Shannon Bream and FOX & Friends

(….)

FNC’s primetime powerhouse lineup swept the top spots in cable news across the board and the weekday lineup surpassed broadcast in weekday primetime summer to date. At 8PM/ET, FNC’s Tucker Carlson Tonight continues to make cable news history, marking the first time that a cable news program delivered over 5 million viewers for two consecutive months. The 8PM/ET program was also the highest-rated for the month in total viewers with 5.1 million, 1,018,000 in the 25-54 demographic, and 702,000 in the 18-49 demo….At 9PM/ET, Hannity was the number one-rated program in the key 25-54 demographic, averaging over 1 million viewers (1,046,000) for the first time in program history and followed as the second most-watched program in cable news, notching 4,982,000 total viewers and 718,000 in the 18-49 demo. Additionally, both programs marked 10 straight months of surpassing 4 million viewers overall. In total viewers, Tucker Carlson Tonight and Hannity surpassed NBC Nightly News airing on Sundays, ABC’s The Bachelorette, The Conners, Big Sky, Million Little Things, The Good Doctor and America’s Funniest Home Videos, as well as NCIS New Orleans, The Amazing Race and Face The Nation airing on CBS.

If CNN wanted to truthfully claim that it’s the most-watched cable channel, it had an uphill battle as FNC leads all channels in primetime. Yes, every single channel on the dial.

Since Memorial Day weekend, Nielsen Research has shown the Fox News Channel with 4.312 million viewers in primetime versus 3.868 on NBC, 3.483 million for CBS, 3.396 million on ABC, and the Fox broadcast network at 3.007 million.

And when looking at the year to date ratings, Fox News had a 68 percent advantage over CNN in total viewers and 13 percent in 25-54. When compared to MSNBC, FNC had a 54 percent lead in total viewers and 75 percent in the 25-54 demographic.

So while they declare victory in the 25-54 demo (558,000 versus 413,000), Zuckerville might want to have its ducks in a row before claiming that they’re the most-watched cable news channel and in cable overall.

Statistician in Texas Lawsuit Against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Says Probability of Biden Winning Election Was One in a Quadrillion!

USC and former Harvard statistician determines that the possibility of Joe Biden winning the states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were basically statistically impossible.

We reported on a case this morning coming out of Texas challenging 2020 Presidential election actions of four states, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania:

Texas Files Lawsuit with Supreme Court Challenging Election Procedures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

The filing is included in the post above.  The court later today decided to take this case up.

TRENDING: BREAKING: Supreme Court Denies Latest Election Challenge Out of Pennsylvania

In the filing, a statistician notes that the probably of Joe Biden winning these four states was basically impossible as reported at the Election Wizard:

A new lawsuit filed today, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to block four battleground states – Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, from casting “unlawful and constitutionally tainted votes” in the Electoral College.

In the brief submitted to the Supreme Court, Texas includes a declaration from Pacific Economics Group member and USC economics professor, Charles J. Cicchetti, Ph.D.

Dr. Cicchetti is the former Deputy Director at the Energy and Environmental Policy Center at Harvard University’s John Kennedy School of Government and received his Ph.D. in economics from Rutgers University.

According to Dr. Cicchetti, his calculations show the probability of Joe Biden winning the popular vote in the four states independently given President Trump’s early lead in those States as of 3 a.m. on November 4, 2020, is less than one in a quadrillion.

Dr. Cicchetti’s analysis calculates that for Joe Biden to win all four states collectively, the odds of that event happening decrease to less than one in a quadrillion to the fourth power (1 in 1 1,000,000,000,000,0004).

This analysis by a world respected statistician is shocking and it agrees with what we previously reported.  The results of the election in these states and others were basically impossible:

WE CAUGHT THEM! Part 7: Wisconsin, Like MI, GA, PA and VA, Caught Doing the ‘Drop and Roll’ Too — Once Biden Gained Lead with MASSIVE Vote Dumps, The Rest of Votes All Possessed Same Biden to Trump Vote Ratio – THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Everyone knows Joe Biden did not receive more votes than Barack Obama, let alone the most popular President in US history, President Donald Trump.

Biden beating Trump legitimately was basically impossible. We know it.  They know it. It was a rigged election.

Here Is The Delicious Moment When Fox News Broke It To Their Viewers That Joe Biden Is President-Elect

Neil Cavuto broke into Fox News’s coverage to tell their viewers that the Supreme Court isn’t helping and Joe Biden really is President-Elect.

Video:

Cavuto broke into the White House pep rally/summit on Operation Warp Speed and said, “We’re interrupting this to pass along news that will be distressing for the president despite all the hoopla and justified pride in this progress on coronavirus. The U.S. Supreme court has just rejected a Republican challenge to Joe Biden’s election win in Pennsylvania. They will not interfere or interpret on that. It stands as is. This is one of the last and final tries if you will. Some were calling it a legal Hail Mary pass to reverse the election outcome by reversing the 20 electoral votes for Joe Biden. The Supreme Court has taken a look at the rest on the part of the Republicans to challenge that to reexamine that. It has rejected that. The win stands. Joe Biden now clearly the President-Elect of the United States.”

This was the moment that Fox News had to tell its viewers, including the guy currently sitting in the Oval Office for the next 43 days, that it really is over.

The moment was all the more special because it came a day after Trump stood in the Oval Office and proclaimed that really big things were coming in the next couple of days and that he was still fighting to win the election.
None of Trump’s statements were true. It’s over, and the Supreme Court slammed the door shut on Trump’s election challenge scam.
